Solo 2 combines a four-constellation GPS receiver sampling at 25 Hz with a 6-axis inertial platform running at 100 Hz; together they calculate, display and log lap and sector times, position, vehicle speed, and 3D acceleration and gyro data.
Add Solo 2 DL and you also get a direct ECU connection (CAN, RS232 and K-line), a low-voltage RPM pickup (either 150-400 V from the coil or an 8-50 V digital square wave), and CAN expansions — the Channel Expansion, LCU Series lambda controllers, SmartyCam Series — turning the unit into a full datalogger with 4 GB of internal memory.
Other highlights:
- Automatic lap and sector timing from a database of thousands of tracks worldwide, recognising the track and start line without input
- Position and speed logged 25 times a second via four-constellation GPS, typically accurate to within 0.5 m
- 3D acceleration and gyro data at 100 Hz, covering roll, pitch and yaw
- Predictive lap timing referenced against the best lap of the day or session, the previous lap, or a driver-chosen reference lap
- Test modes for speed runs and standard performance benchmarks, including 0-60 mph, 60-0 mph, 0-100 km/h, 0-160 km/h, and eighth-mile, quarter-mile and metric distances
